MacroCut ("the app", "we", "our") is developed by StackVigil ("the developer"). This policy explains what information MacroCut handles and how.
MacroCut is designed to work entirely on your device. We do not operate any server, do not collect your data, and do not share your data with anyone — including us. There is no account, no sign-in, and no analytics or advertising SDKs in the app. MacroCut offers an optional premium subscription; payment is handled entirely by Apple, and we never see your payment details (see "Subscriptions and purchases" below).
To build your nutrition and fitness plan, MacroCut asks you for:
If you choose to connect Apple Health, MacroCut reads (never writes):
All of this information is stored only in local storage on your device (UserDefaults) or, for meal photos, in your device's local app storage. None of it is transmitted to any server, because MacroCut doesn't have one. We — the developer — never see any of your data, including your blood glucose readings or HbA1c results.
MacroCut requests read-only access to Apple Health data solely to personalize your nutrition plan, aerobic fitness roadmap, and glucose tracking, and to let you sync your logged weight, VO₂ max, and blood glucose automatically. In accordance with Apple's guidelines:
MacroCut offers an optional premium subscription (strength training plans with exercise form guides, the VO₂/cardio roadmap, glucose trend charts, and adaptive coaching) through Apple's App Store In-App Purchase system.
Because everything is stored locally, you are always in control:
If you enable meal reminders, MacroCut schedules local notifications on your device using iOS's built-in notification system. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on-device; no reminder content is sent to or through any server.
MacroCut is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children, consistent with the fact that the app collects no information at all beyond what is stored locally on the user's own device.
If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

This document is a draft prepared for the developer's review. Have someone familiar with your local privacy/consumer-protection laws review it if you plan to distribute outside your home country — this draft is written to satisfy Apple's App Store requirements, not as legal advice. Given MacroCut now handles blood glucose data specifically, consider having this reviewed by counsel familiar with health-data regulations in the regions you plan to distribute in (e.g., HIPAA does not apply here since MacroCut is not a covered entity/business associate, but other regional health-data rules may still be relevant).
